Not really sure if these are geraniums or not...I just wanted to use one of my own pictures, and this looked similar to what I found when I searched "geranium" on Google. lol

Jumping right into it...bullet points today!

  • Antidepressant
  • Helps with stress-related conditions
  • Anti-inflammatory properties
  • Healing properties
  • Relieves tension
  • Affects the endocrine system (probably why it is helpful with depression)
  • Natural fly repellent
  • Helpful with wounds because it has styptic properties (helps to stop bleeding)
  • Diluted geranium in witch hazel can help with bruising
  • Combats intestinal worms
  • Fungicidal properties
  • Astringent
  • Antiseptic
  • Diuretic
  • Balances the nervous system
  • Liver stimulant (it seems to me that this would probably further help rid the body of toxins)
  • Lymphatic stimulant (would help to fight infections)
  • May cause changes in temperament
  • Helps cause calmness because it is balances hormones
  • Recommended not to be used at the end of the day because it may keep the subject awake

There you go!

As usual, these facts are all taken from Carole Faith's Essential Oils for Horses, which can be found for sale on Amazon.com and has a lot of helpful information about using aromatherapy with horses besides just the properties of many different oils.
